TIPS
General
1. It must have a heading, to be written in capital letters. It can be FOR SALE, SITUATION VACANT, SITUATION WANTED, TO LET, TO HIRE, LOST, MISSING, etc. It is to be written in the first line at the centre
2. The language used should be simple, formal and to the point.
3. All necessary information should be provided in one single para. It should be a brief and crisp description.
4. Provide contact name and mobile number. Sometimes email id is also mentioned. These should be written in last line.
5. The advertisement should be enclosed in a text box
6. Stick to word limit.
Types of advertisement and its contents:
1. Situation Vacant

3. Sale of Property/ Vehicles / Household goods/office furniture / To let
- Heading – FOR SALE or TO LET
- Description of property to be sold – start with ‘ Available for immediate sale is …..’ or ‘Available for giving on rent …’
- Its location / condition / year of construction or purchase
- Expected price (or rent) or say price (or rent) negotiable
- Give your contact details
4. Purchase of Property/ Vehicles / Household goods/office furniture /To hire
- Heading – FOR SALE or TO HIRE
- Description of property to be purchased – start with ‘ Required for immediate purchase …..’ or ‘Required for immediate hiring …’
- Indicate location in which property is required and a small description
- Say price ( or rent) negotiable
- Give your contact details
5. Missing Person
- Heading – MISSING
- Description of the person, name, gender, age, cloths, missing since when, or any other feature for identification etc
- Description of reward if any
- Give your contact details and address
6. Lost and Found
- Heading – LOST or FOUND as the case be
- Description of the item lost (found) , its identification mark , the place where it was lost (found) etc.

7. Travels and Tours
- Heading – TOUR or TRAVEL AND TOUR or TOUR PACKAGE or CONDUCTED TOUR etc
- Begin with ‘A complete tour package ….’
- Give destination, starting station, duration, date
- Details of Package – food / boarding / lodging / sight seeing / pick up etc.
- Cost and special discounts
- Mention exclusions or arrangements that would cost extra
- Name of the travel agency and contact details
8. Packers and Movers
- Heading – MOVERS AND PACKERS
- Begin with ‘A reliable movers and packers for shifting of …’
- Mention about services – nationwide / international / within city / within state
- Mention about good quality of packing and careful handling
- Name of the agency and contact details
9. Matrimonial for bride
- Heading – MATRIMONIAL FOR BRIDE
- Begin with ‘Proposals are invited for … ’. Here you will give details of groom like resident of , height, educational qualification, present job, place of working, current income etc
- Give brief expectation about bride like education, height etc.
- Give contact details – sometimes, instead of contact details of an individual, contact details of the newspaper are given
10. Matrimonial for groom
- On the same lines as that for ‘Matrimonial for Bride’.
