Short Answer Questions (30-40 words)
Answer: The father looked at the child red-eyed, in his familiar tyrant’s way. His mother gave him her finger to hold and asked him to look for what was before him.
Answer: The child wanted to buy burfi, balloon and gulmohar garland in the fair. He did not expect that his parent would accept his request. Regarding burfi, he expected his parents to tell him not to be greedy.
Answer: Several men, women and kids emerged from narrow lanes and alleys. They were dressed in nice clothes and appeared happy. Some were walking, some rode on horses while others were being carried in bamboo chairs and bullock carts.
Answer: The child was irresistibly drawn towards garland. He went towards the basket of flowers and wanted to buy a garland. He knew that his parents would not buy it for him. They would tell these flowers were cheap.
Answer: The man picked him up and asked about his parents. He took him to roundabout and snake charmer. He offered to buy ballons, garland and burfi.
In this way he tried to make child happy.
Answer: The child was attracted towards a shop that was selling toys. He wanted to buy a toy.
He was attracted by little insects and worms that were coming out of their hiding place to enjoy sunshine of the day.
Answer: The child was certainly scared of his father. It is narrated that at the toy shop father looked at him in red-eyed in his familiar tyrant’s way. The child did not dare to speak to his father rather he just whispered.
Answer: He started collecting raining petals in his tiny hands. Suddenly he heard cooing of a dove. He forgot about petals. He ran towards his parents shouting, “The dove! The dove.”
Answer: In the fair he saw a huge crowd of people. So he was repelled.
He saw various shops, snake charmer, swings and that all people were converging towards the site of fair. So he was fascinated.
Answer: The burfi was his favourite sweet. Therefore he wanted to buy it.
He expected that his parent would not buy it for him. They would say that he was greedy.
Answer: The child was fascinated to see the rainbow glory of silken colours of balloons. He wanted to possess all of them.
But he knew that his parents would not buy it. They would say that he was too old to play with these.
Answer: The child said to his parents that he wanted to go on that roundabout. Then he turned to look at his parents. They were not with him. He was separated from his parents. So he did not get any response from them.
Answer: The child got separated from his parents in the fair. In the process of searching his parents he reached temple.
There was huge crowd at the temple. He could not move. He fell down. A kind person picked him to save his life.
Answer: He was very afraid and started crying. He ran in every direction to search his parents. He was shouting for his mother and father. Finally he reached temple. Owing to big crowd he fell down. A kind person picked him up to save his life.
Answer: Parents sat on the edge of a well that was situated in shade of grave.
The child had fallen behind his parents. So they called their child to come near them.
Long Answer questions (120-150 words)
Answer: The man had presence of mind. He quickly picked up the child. With some effort he was able to move away from mass. Thus he saved child from getting trampled and suffocated.
He was a kind person. Among the crowd nobody had bothered to talk to the kid. But this man seems to have a kind heart. he tried to find out about parents of his child,. He surely wanted to hand over the kid to his parents.
He loved kids. The man tried to make the child happy. He took the child to various points of attraction.
He was a responsible citizen. Every act of the man points out his good social and moral values. He behaved as a responsible citizen of the society.
Thus the man was a kind, child loving and a responsible person. He had presence of mind.
Answer: The child was playful. He enjoyed walking along the footpaths though sometimes he deviated. He observed insects coming out of their place of hiding. He collected petals raining in the groove. He was happy to listen to cooing of dove.
The child was obedient. He followed instruction of her mother to walk with parents whenever he lagged behind. He did not create any fuss for buying things he liked.
The child had good understanding about behaviour of his parents. He understood from a mere look of his father that he will not get toys. He half knew that his parent would not buy anything for him.
The child was quite fearful person. He was totally afraid to notice that he had been separated from his parent. Panic-stricken, he ran hither and thither.
The child was innocent. He easily believed a helping man, though he did not know him.
Thus the child was innocent, obedient and playful.
Answer: On the way to fair, the child saw a toy seller. He was attracted to it and he wanted to buy a toy.
Then child saw a sweetmeat seller. He was loudly narrating variety of sweats available. Burfi was the favourite sweet of the child. He wanted to buy burfi.
Then he saw a flower seller. He was selling gulmohur flowers and garlands. He was attracted by their fragrance and beauty. He wanted to buy a garland and put it around his neck.
Then he saw a balloon seller. Balloons of various colours were tied with a pole. He was fascinated by rainbow glory of silken colours of balloons. He wanted to buy all the balloons.
He wanted to listen to music of a snake charmer. He also wanted to take a ride on the roundabout.
